• Welcome to the Wixams Church website

A brief message for the Easter season.

As the followers of Jesus arrived at his tomb on that first Easter morning, they were greeted by an angelic vision. The angel said to them:

"He is not here. He has risen. Come and see."

    (Matthew 28:6)

Whatever we think of Christianity, it is hard to argue with the fact that the events we remember and celebrate at Easter form a pivotal moment in human history. It is a story – a little more of which you can read here – That some have tried to dismiss or deny throughout the last 2000 years.

But the truth of the story is irrefutable when you study the evidence; and we invite you – as those first witnesses to Resurrection were invited 2000 years ago – to “come and see”; and to discover afresh – or maybe for the first time – the reality and relevance of the Christian faith for the world today.

'Church' will mean different things to different people. We are a new church in the village of Wixams, seeking to create a spiritual heart for our  new community as it grows.

We are a partnership of Baptist, Church of England, Methodist and United Reformed Church Christians; and welcome all, from any tradition or none, who are interested in finding out more of the meaning and significance of the Christian faith for the 21st Century.

We meet at 10.30 on Sunday mornings at Lakeview village Hall; and warmly invite you to join us; to 'come and see' with us, as together we seek to discover more of Jesus Christ and his teaching and influence on the world.
